Qaadir Hicks has been performing since his first dance recital at age seven when he performed a tap routine. He eventually continued his dance training in jazz, ballet, contemporary and hip hop with UNC School of the Arts, Carolina Ballet, The Dance Cooperative and under the direction of Miguel Campaneria at the International Ballet Academy.
He has danced the role of the Nutcracker
in multiple Wilmington productions, and has also performed for Opera House Theater Company, Forward Motion Dance Company, and in the annual Wilmington Dance Festival.
He choreographed a piece that was selected for Dancealorus in 2016.
Qaadir delivered unforgettable performances in the role of
"Bumble
The Abominable Snow Monster"
in The Dance Element's 2016 Holiday Spectacular production of RUDOLPH
and as
"The Mayor" in The Year Without Santa,
2017.
Qaadir earned his BFA in dance performance from East Carolina University.
He has been a beloved member of The Dance Element's professional faculty since the fall of 2016.
