Staying active
is a vital part of staying healthy!
Dance is one of the unique activities beneficial to both
physical & mental health.
In addition to improving fitness, dance classes provide a chance to interact with friends, and offer a creative escape that can be a great source of HAPPINESS for people
of all ages and levels of experience.
In stressful and challenging times,
we realize that having this outlet
is more “essential” than ever!
The Dance Element Is Committed To Keeping Our Dance Family
Healthy & Happy!
While paying close attention to the science and evaluating survey results from a pool of more than 50 local parents, we are exceeding all current recommendations and guidelines
with creative policies and procedures that ensure the safety of our students without removing any of the fun
from our dance classes.
The Dance Element has installed
anti-viral MERV-13 filters in our HVAC system to constantly cycle and clean the air in our facility.
MERV 13 filters attract and capture 98%
of airborne particles, including dust, smog, mold, bacteria, viruses, and allergens.
While removing harmful particulates,
these filters also elevate the system's overall performance by efficiently minimizing backpressure and maintaining proper airflow.
We have invested in a HEPA Air Purifier for each dance room.
These hospital-grade machines are designed to trap and remove 99.97% of germs and airborne viruses in spaces larger than 1200 square feet.
(That's almost 600 sq. ft. bigger than
our largest dance studio room!)
The units are almost completely silent and constantly run to purify the air while dance classes are in session.
We have adapted our class schedule so staff members can completely disinfect the dance studios
between each group of students
.
Colorful spots in the center of our large dance classrooms assist students as they move, allowing them plenty of space to learn dance technique (and socialize with each other,) while maintaining at least seven feet of physical distance.
Appropriately distanced personal spots along the walls in each studio are reserved for each dancer and their belongings and all include individual bottles
of hand sanitizer.
Marked by funny, multicolored feet, these spots help to space dancers for stretching as well as barre work in our ballet classes.
It is extremely beneficial for young children to learn spatial awareness, and dance students of all ages are eventually required to dance
"on their spot"
when learning choreography for performance.
These Health & Safety precautions may produce stronger dancers!
The Dance Element Believes We Are ALL Responsible
for the Health and Safety
of Each Other!
With this in mind, Parents, Faculty, & Adult Dance Students are asked
to sign a "Wellness Pledge" before participating in our dance classes.
The Wellness Pledge is a commitment that each family/dancer will practice good hygiene, follow preclusion policies while away from the studio, and responsibly self-evaluate/ evaluate children before every visit to The Dance Element promising to remain at home if they or other family members are experiencing symptoms of illness.
Although many things are different in this global situation, by accepting a collective responsibility
to support the health and safety of our dance family, each of us together
can ensure that The Dance Element continues to make a difference.
Please don't hesitate to
